Ada Lovelace called her way of thinking poetical science, and no phrase better fits a woman whose Sun burned in Sagittarius, the sign of the philosopher-explorer, born to shine through learning and the reaching after big-picture wisdom. That solar fire fell in the ninth house of higher knowledge and the great questions, where one is meant to be seen as a mind that reads the whole from above. The only legitimate child of the poet Lord Byron, raised by a mother who steered her hard toward mathematics and logic, Ada took that Jupiterian hunger and pointed it at the frontier of an unbuilt future.
Her Moon in Aries is the warrior's psyche, a driven, pioneering heart that finds peace only in being first, in daring where others hesitate. It shows: when she studied Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine and translated Menabrea's paper between 1842 and 1843, she added Notes carrying what many call the first algorithm meant for a machine, and she alone glimpsed that such an engine might reach beyond mere arithmetic. Aries also rises on her chart, the Ram's fearless mask, the trendsetter who walks first into uncharted country. Ada Lovelace, Countess and first programmer, met the machine age before it had arrived, and imagined what it could become.
