SCIENCE AND THE STARS OF THE MAGI

Percy Seymour

Here I discuss what we currently know about the links between the cosmos, our geophysical environment and the biosphere. I use this knowledge to decide on what was the most likely astronomical event that the Magi saw as The Star of Bethlehem. This led me to conclude that The Star was a special conjunction of the planets Jupiter (seen by ancient astrologers as the Planet of Kings) and Saturn (seen as the protector of the Jews) in the constellation of Pisces - The Fishes. I further concluded that Christ was born at sunset on 15 September 7 BC when the Sun was in the constellation of Virgo - The Virgin.
