2025 Inauguration Day

Every moment has a sky, and the sky over the 2025 Inauguration on 20 January is a study in power meeting the collective. This was the swearing-in of Donald Trump as the forty-seventh president, held indoors within the Capitol rotunda against the January cold, the first inauguration sheltered from the open air since Reagan in 1985, and the first non-consecutive return to office since Grover Cleveland closed that door in 1893. Charts of events read the same as charts of people, so let us read this one.

The Sun sits in Aquarius in the tenth house, the very throne of the chart, the Sun at noon at the highest point of the sky. This is the solar signature of visible power exercised on behalf of the tribe rather than the self: shining among the collective, the eleventh-sign impulse to lead a group's way. The Moon in Libra in the sixth speaks to the machinery of the day, the ceremony, the balancing of scales, the Venusian care for symmetry and appearance in a public ritual. Taurus rises, an earthy, immovable front door broadcasting stability and strong values. A sober, weighty sky for a heavy office.
