Ava Gardner

Ava Gardner was one of the great luminaries of Hollywood's Golden Age, and her chart tells the story of a working queen. Her Sun sits in Capricorn, that old-soul climber ruled by Saturn, whose whole identity organises around career and the slow, dependable ascent to the top of the ladder. She signed with MGM in 1941 and worked her way up through small roles until The Killers (1946) drew the critics' eyes, then earned an Oscar nomination for Mogambo (1953) and further acclaim for The Night of the Iguana (1964). That Capricorn Sun landed in her sixth house of work and duty: she kept acting steadily across five decades, from Show Boat and The Barefoot Contessa to Knots Landing in the 1980s.
