Wuhan CDC/China WHO's First Warning of Covid-19

On the last day of 2019, a quiet notice passed from Wuhan to the WHO China Country Office: a cluster of pneumonia cases of unknown cause, gathering in Hubei Province. By early January, forty-four patients had been reported, eleven of them severely ill, several of them traders at the Huanan Seafood market that was shuttered on the first of the year for cleaning. The causal agent was not yet named. No one yet knew what those few lines would become. This is the chart of that first warning, and its signature is sober and prophetic.
