Leo New Moon, Aug 16, 2023

The Leo New Moon of 16 August 2023, cast over New York City, was a moment when the sky doubled down on fire. A new moon is the seed-point of a cycle, Sun and Moon meeting in the same embrace, and here they met in Leo, the Sun's own royal domicile, with Leo also rising on the eastern horizon. Three fires in one, all pooled in the 1st house of beginnings and identity: the universe honestly could not offer a more solar signature. This was the lion-king's lunation, a heart-forward invitation to shine simply by being oneself.

The Sun in Leo in the 1st blazes at full strength, the star born to be seen, while the Leo Moon threads that radiance through the feelings, making the emotional body itself a stage. With Leo ascending too, the whole moment wore the regal mask, magnetic and generous, holding the torch to light the path for others. Its Sabian symbol underscored the paradox: a strange, unkempt figure revealed to be a yogi of transcendent powers, the true king who needs no roar. A moment asking each of us to claim our own courage, creativity and golden heart.
