Meat Loaf

Meat Loaf, born Marvin Lee Aday, turned rock into grand opera, and the chart holds the whole theatrical storm. His Sun in Libra is the hero who shines through beauty, drama and the perfect duet; Libra loves the partnership, the call-and-response, and no song embodies that better than "I'd Do Anything for Love", a Grammy-winning conversation between two voices. That Sun fell in the eighth house of death and rebirth, the phoenix rising from the ashes, and what a fitting stage for a man who built an entire mythology called Bat Out of Hell, a trilogy that has sold over 100 million records and refuses to die.

His Aquarius Ascendant was the black-sheep mask, the wonderful eccentric who could never look ordinary, which is exactly why he made such an unforgettable Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and later Robert Paulson in Fight Club. Beneath the flamboyant costume beat a Pisces Moon in the first house, the sponge, the empath, feelings worn right under the skin: the source of that huge, aching, wide-ranging voice. He sang from the underworld and made it soar. He died in 2022, a phoenix having burned bright.
