Oct 2023 Lunar Eclipse- Beginning/Saros 146

This is the chart of a moment: the exact beginning of the partial lunar eclipse of 28 October 2023, an eclipse of Saros series 146, cast for Re'im in Israel. An eclipse is the sky's great punctuation mark, the instant the Earth's shadow begins to fall across the full Moon, and the heavens here speak in the language of shadow and reckoning.

At this opening moment the Sun stands in Scorpio, the sign of death and rebirth, the Phoenix and the underground, planted in the fourth house of home, homeland and lineage. The eclipsed Moon rides opposite in Taurus, exalted in the sign of the earth and the five senses, yet lifted to the tenth house, the throne and the most public rooftop of the chart, so what unfolds is witnessed by the whole world. A Cancer Ascendant, the lunar mask of the crab and the matriarch, wraps the moment in the archetype of home, family and the fierce instinct to protect the nest. Scorpio's Sun in the house of the homeland set against a public Taurean Moon marks this as a signature of security shaken and shadow made visible, a moment when the ground itself and the world's gaze meet under an eclipsed sky.
