City of Reykjavík

Reykjavík is the northernmost capital of any sovereign nation, perched on the southern shore of Faxaflói bay in southwestern Iceland. Tradition holds it as the site of Iceland's first permanent settlement, founded by Ingólfr Arnarson in 874, though it slept as open land until it was chartered as a trading town in 1786. From there it grew steadily into the beating heart of the nation: its centre of commerce, government and culture, and today one of the cleanest, greenest and safest cities on Earth, home to some 140,000 souls.

Its Sun blazes in Leo, the Sun at full strength in its own domicile, the born king of the castle. This is a city that shines with warmth and pride, a proud little capital that draws the whole country to orbit it. That Sun sits in the third house of communication, siblings and self-effort, so it shines by doing, making and speaking, a small place punching far above its size.
