Whitney Houston

They called her The Voice, and the heavens gave Whitney Houston a Sun in Leo, the luminary in its own domicile, blazing at full strength: the born celebrity, the lion with a giant heart, impossible not to notice the moment she opened her mouth. Yet that royal Sun sat in the sixth house of work and craft, so her gift was disciplined by devotion; she began in church, sang backup as a teenager, and honed those gospel-soaked, improvising vocals into a instrument that sold over 200 million records and earned eight Grammys.

Her Pisces Ascendant was the compassionate, dreamy mask, the saintly softness in those big soulful eyes, the empath who felt everything. Beneath it her Aries Moon burned Martian and brave: the warrior who conquered "I Will Always Love You", who owned The Bodyguard, who fronted seven consecutive number ones no artist had matched.
