Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder has always carried something that cannot quite be photographed: a depth, a magnetism, an intensity behind the eyes. That is her Scorpio Sun, the Eagle at her core, the sign of death and rebirth, where the soul shines through transformation rather than sheer brightness. It shows in the way she vanishes into a role, in the famous Scorpio stare, in a career that has died and risen again like a phoenix. Placed in the eleventh house of the tribe, that Sun made her the reluctant hero of a generation, a solitary star who nonetheless belonged to a whole cultural circle.

Born on the twenty-ninth of October, 1971, she arrived in Beetlejuice and Heathers, then deepened into Edward Scissorhands, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and two Oscar-nominated turns in The Age of Innocence and Little Women. Her Moon in Pisces is the sponge, the ultimate empath, a psyche tuned to imagination and the spirit realm; sitting in the third house of words and story, it lets raw feeling flow straight through her performances.
