Chico (Gypsy Kings)

Chico Bouchikhi is a man who has spent his life turning discord into harmony, both in music and in the world. That is the fingerprint of a Libra Sun: the hero-self expressed through Venus's Scale, one who shines by being the perfect mediator, the one who sees balance, symmetry and beauty in everything. Born in 1954 in Arles to a Moroccan father and an Algerian mother, he co-founded the Gipsy Kings, giving the world that warm, sun-soaked rumba flamenco, before forming Chico & the Gypsies in 1991. His Sun in the second house draws money and value to him through this Venusian craft, the beauty made audible.

His Moon is exalted in Taurus, one of the healthiest places a Moon can sit: earthy, devoted, tuned to the five senses, the very soul of music you can feel in your chest. Yet that Moon falls in the eighth house of death and rebirth, the survivor's Moon, the phoenix. His brother Ahmed was assassinated in the 1973 Lillehammer affair, mistaken for another man; Chico transmuted that grief into peace work, becoming a UNESCO envoy who played for Peres and Arafat during the Oslo Accords, choosing reconciliation over grudge.
