Dolly Parton

The Queen of Country wore rhinestones over a spine of pure Saturn steel. Dolly Parton wrote her first song at six, was performing on television by ten, and turned a hardscrabble Tennessee childhood into a nearly sixty-year career, more than 3,000 songs, 100 million records, eleven Grammys, and an empire with a heart in Dollywood. That is Capricorn Sun through and through: the old soul climbing patiently to the highest rung, dependable, disciplined, quietly the boss while everyone underestimated the sparkle. Yet her Sun shines from the fifth house, the Sun's very own home, so all that ambition poured through creativity, charisma and play; she was radiant self-expression that people gladly paid for, from Jolene to 9 to 5 to the big screen. Her Virgo Moon and Virgo rising doubled the maiden's gift: the meticulous craftswoman who loves through service and making things by hand, humble and useful, endlessly detailed in her work. And that Moon sits in the twelfth house, the cosmic-mother placement, the empath and healer poured into the collective, which is why her philanthropy and her Coat of Many Colors tenderness felt bottomless. She passed in August 2026. A true original, wheat and rhinestone both.
