Christina Hendricks

Christina Hendricks radiates a certain old-world glamour that feels carved from something solid, and her chart begins with exactly that: a Sun in Taurus, the bull, the foundational Venusian pillar Gaia calls the connoisseur of beauty and value, the grounded one with unshakeable taste. Yet that Sun sits in the twelfth house, the unknowable, oceanic realm of the psychic and the sponge, so her radiance is not brash; it glows from somewhere quieter and more mysterious, the star who moves through the ether. Born in Knoxville in 1975 to an American mother and English father, raised across Oregon, Idaho and Virginia, she modelled internationally for over a decade before acting claimed her. Her Moon in Aquarius, seated in the ninth house of foreign horizons and higher philosophy, gave her a mind fused with the collective and hungry for exotic culture, the crazy-genius nonconformist under the poised exterior. A Gemini Ascendant lent the quicksilver, changeable mask that lets an actor slip between selves. Fame arrived as Joan Holloway on Mad Men from 2007, earning six Emmy nominations and Screen Actors Guild honours, with striking film turns in Drive and beyond. Solid earth, electric mind, mercurial face: a rare and lasting blend.
