Cindy Crawford

Cindy Crawford carried a rare kind of shine, one that seemed to come from somewhere deeper than the camera could quite reach, and her chart explains it beautifully. With her Sun in Pisces, the twelfth and wisest archetype that contains all the others, she was an old soul shining in the mystical, dreamlike, unknowable realm. Pisces is where beauty becomes almost mirage, and few faces have ever hovered so effortlessly between the real and the ideal. That Sun sits in the eighth house of transformation and depth, the phoenix territory, which suited a woman who did not just model but reinvented what a supermodel could become.

Her Moon in Pisces doubled the enchantment: the ultimate empath's psyche, a sponge tuned to feeling, imagination and intuition. Placed in the ninth house of foreign horizons and higher purpose, it drew her out into the wider world through Vogue and Elle covers, campaigns and global recognition through the 1980s and 1990s. Born in Illinois in 1966, she later built Meaningful Beauty and gave to childhood-leukaemia causes. A Cancer Ascendant, the nurturing lunar mask, gave her that soft, luminous, full-moon face the world never forgot.
