Dev Patel

Dev Patel carries a warmth and a groundedness on screen that never quite masks the fighter underneath, and his chart holds both truths at once. Born on 23 April 1990 in Harrow, London, to Gujarati parents, he grew up in the Hindu faith and, tellingly, trained in Taekwondo to a first-dan black belt, taking bronze at a world championship before the cameras ever found him. His Sun in Taurus is the pillar Gaia calls the foundation of the chart: earthy, patient, sensual, a connoisseur with solid values and opinions that no one can budge. It is a steady, reliable core, the kind that lets a young actor grow slowly and deliberately rather than burn out. But his Moon in Aries is the engine, the masculine, Martian Moon that finds peace only through action, courage and the doing of brave things, the survivor Gaia says you would want beside you when things get hard. That fire showed in real life when he stepped into a knife fight in Adelaide in 2022. From Skins to his star-making turn in Slumdog Millionaire in 2008, through The Green Knight and his directorial debut Monkey Man, he has built a versatile body of work. A bull's foundation, a warrior's heart.
