Drake, born Aubrey Drake Graham, is a shapeshifter of modern music, and his chart tells you exactly why. His Sun shines in Scorpio, the sign of transformation, death and rebirth, the Eagle at the core, the phoenix that keeps dying and rising in a new form. Watch his path and you see it: the Canadian teenager who played Jimmy on Degrassi, then reinvented himself as the rapper who fused singing and R&B into hip hop and never stopped remaking his sound, from Take Care to Views to Scorpion, that fittingly named double album. Over 170 million records, eleven number-one hits, records that stack past counting. That Scorpio Sun sits in his third house of communication and craft, the go-getter who shines through words and constant work, endlessly outputting. His Moon in Cancer is the Moon at home, a double dose of the maternal, nurturing, deeply psychic soul, and in his eleventh house of friends and the masses it means his emotional life rises and falls with his people, his city, his network. Rising in Leo, the regal lion with the signature look, he wears the mask of a king who owns the room and, true to it, half of Toronto too.
