Pelé

Pelé turned football into something the world agreed to call beautiful, and it is fitting that his Sun shines in Libra, the Venus-ruled sign of harmony, symmetry and grace. Where others saw a scramble for a ball, he saw balance, elegance and the perfect line, and he shared it: born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, he became the joyful ambassador who connected the phrase The Beautiful Game to the sport itself. His Sun sits in the second house of worth and resources, the placement of the self-made provider for whom money and value gather, and for a time he was the best-paid athlete alive. His Moon in Gemini is quick, restless and endlessly clever, an air-sign mind reading the field in an instant, anticipating every opponent, dropping deep to conjure an assist or dance past a defender; and it falls in his tenth house, the very throne of the chart, where feelings are lived in full public view and fame is all but guaranteed. He won three World Cups, in 1958, 1962 and 1970, the only man ever to do so and the youngest ever champion at seventeen, was crowned O Rei, and scored a record 1,279 goals. Virgo rose as his mask, the fit, precise craftsman. Named Athlete of the Century, he remained a global hero to the end.
