Timur (Tamerlane)

Timur, known in the West as Tamerlane, was a Turco-Mongol conqueror whose campaigns across Central Asia, Persia, the Caucasus, India and the Near East are estimated to have killed millions of people. Scholars have characterised parts of his conquest as genocidal. He built towers from the skulls of the slaughtered and razed cities that dared resist him. Whatever his chart shows, it must be read only as temperament, never as excuse: a natal signature describes disposition, not the deliberate choices a person makes, and the atrocities were his choices.

His Sun in Aries carried the raw signature of the warrior and self-starter, the fire that never backs down. In its low expression this is precisely the placement Gaia warns of, the violent, impatient force that leaves lasting marks by the sword. Placed in the sixth house of duty and conflict, it fused his identity with relentless campaigning. His Scorpio Ascendant lent the mask of the survivor who sees through everyone and cannot be fooled, all-or-nothing and unblinking.
