Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg, born Caryn Elaine Johnson in 1955, is a rare double Scorpio, Sun and Moon both in the realm of the Eagle and the Phoenix. That means her whole nature, ego and psyche alike, is built on transformation, death and rebirth, rising again from the ashes with each new form. It is a survivor's chart: calm and composed on the surface, an emotional volcano beneath, all or nothing, going deep. Little wonder she became one of only a handful of people to win the EGOT, reinventing herself from stand-up to The Color Purple to her Oscar for Ghost.

Both luminaries sit in the ninth house of philosophy, higher learning and global horizons, the house of the preacher and the true citizen of the world. This is the signature of the born moralist who thinks in big pictures, and you hear it every day when she moderates The View, holding forth on the great questions of the age.

Her Aquarius Ascendant is the eccentric, the black sheep among black sheep, the beloved alien-on-Earth who beats to her own drum. It is the perfect mask for a woman who has never once looked or sounded like anyone else, and never wanted to.
