Anthony Hopkins

Anthony Hopkins is an old soul in the truest sense, and his chart doubles down on it: both his Sun and his Ascendant sit in Saturn-ruled Capricorn. This is the crocodile who waits, the boss position slowly earned, the man born already ninety-five in the brain, patient and dependable, climbing the ladder rung by disciplined rung. He walked out the front door wearing that stoic, angular mask, and behind it lived a craftsman of extraordinary reach. Trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and invited by Laurence Olivier into the National Theatre, he built his ascent one great role at a time: Richard the Lionheart, then The Elephant Man, then the chilling Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs (1991), which won him his first Academy Award.

His Sun falls in the twelfth house, the unknowable Jesus House of spirit and the collective unconscious, an intensely psychic placement that lends his performances their eerie inner depth. His Moon in Sagittarius, my born philosopher, keeps his soul hungry for freedom and big questions; seated in the eleventh house of community, his peace rises and falls with the people around him. At eighty-three he became the oldest Best Actor Oscar winner for The Father. The patient climber, still ascending.
