Cher

Cher, the Goddess of Pop, is a Taurus Sun through and through: the earthy, Venusian pillar, the connoisseur of beauty and sound, blessed with that distinctive contralto and a genius for reinvention held together by unshakeable self-belief. God himself could beg her to change her mind and she would not budge. Her Sun shines in the 11th house, the house of tribe and network, so she was born to lead her own movement rather than share anyone else's throne; six decades of number-one singles, and the only artist to top a Billboard chart across six consecutive decades, is a lion-king building her own franchise, again and again.

Her Moon sits in Capricorn, the tender Moon dropped into cold Saturnian soil: the unspoiled child who grew up fast, dutiful and stoic, carrying a mothering wound and forging it into iron endurance. Placed in her 7th house, that emotional self lives inside her partnerships, from Sonny to the many bonds that shaped her, reading others intuitively and feeling most herself when contracted to another.

With Cancer rising, she meets the world as the lunar matriarch behind the shell. From I Got You Babe to her Oscar for Moonstruck (1987) to Believe (1998), Cher mothered a whole culture and never once dimmed.
