Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore carries the tender, unguarded quality of a Pisces Sun, the twelfth and final archetype, the empath and old soul who shines in the mystical and feels the world as a sponge feels water. That Sun sits in the tenth house, the very throne of the chart, which is the born-in-public placement: fame handed to her almost as an inheritance, and indeed she arrived as a child star through E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Pisces knows the demons too, and her early years of drug and alcohol struggle, laid bare in her bestselling Little Girl Lost, are pure Pisces reckoning. Her Moon in Cancer, in the second house, is a double whammy Moon of the mother goddess, deeply nurturing and psychic, with self-worth and emotional security braided to what she builds and earns. She built plenty: a string of nineties hits from Poison Ivy to Scream to Ever After, the Charlie's Angels films, warm turns opposite Adam Sandler, a Golden Globe and SAG Award for Grey Gardens, her directorial debut Whip It, the company Flower Films, cosmetics, wine, books. A Gemini Ascendant gives the quicksilver, curious, endlessly likeable mask. A wildflower who grew toward the light.
