Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly possessed a stillness that made the camera lean in, and her chart names it exactly: a Scorpio Sun rising in Scorpio, doubling the sign of the eagle and the phoenix, of depth, magnetism and the piercing stare that never quite blinks. This is power held through the mind rather than the fist, a poker face over an ocean of feeling, and it is why cool blondes for Hitchcock hid such heat beneath the ice. With her Sun in the first house she was the star simply by being herself, born to be seen, needing to try no harder than to walk into the frame. From a prominent Philadelphia family she trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and within a few short years took an Oscar for The Country Girl and gave us High Noon, Rear Window and To Catch a Thief. Her Moon in Pisces, that sponge of a moon, the ultimate empath, sat in the fifth house of love and children and creation, so her romantic, imaginative heart eventually chose a different stage: at twenty-six she left Hollywood to marry Prince Rainier and become Princess of Monaco, pouring her fifth-house tenderness into her children and her foundations for young artists. A phoenix, radiant, then transformed.
