Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is King Khan, the Baadshah of Bollywood, and the sheer force of his stardom makes complete sense the moment you look at his sky. Both his Sun and his Ascendant sit in Scorpio, the sign of the eagle and the phoenix, of death and rebirth, of power drawn from the depths of the mind rather than the fist. He arrived from Delhi television in the late 1980s, made his film debut with Deewana in 1992, and, tellingly, first made his name playing villains in Baazigar and Darr before rising again as the romantic idol of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. That Sun in his first house is one of astrology's most potent placements: he shines simply by being himself, born for the stage, impossible to ignore, with the unblinking Scorpio stare that reads a room in a heartbeat.

His Moon in Aquarius, tucked in the fourth house of home and heart, ties his psyche to the collective and to humanity itself, the revolutionary who mothers a whole diaspora. It shows in films of national identity and difference, and in his philanthropy for children and women. Wounded, hiatused, then reborn with Pathaan and Jawan in 2023: a true phoenix, forever rising.
