Michael Erlewine

Michael Erlewine has always been one of those souls who cannot stop building, and the chart tells you why. His Sun sits in Cancer, the father-luminary shining through the sign of the mother, so his whole vitality runs on nurturing, protecting and gathering things safely under one shell. Placed in the eighth house, that Sun becomes the phoenix of transformation, the one drawn to buried treasure and hidden knowledge, and you can feel it in a life spent excavating the underworld of culture. He founded AllMusic in 1991, a vast catacomb of recorded sound, then the All Movie and All Game guides, mapping the buried bodies of popular art so no one would forget them. Before all that he played the Michigan folk and blues scene, hitchhiked with Bob Dylan, and led the Prime Movers, the band that gave a young James Osterberg his name, Iggy. His Moon in Taurus, the Moon exalted and at its most peaceful, is the earthy, patient devotion that lets a man publish forty astrology books and pioneer astrological software in 1977. A Sagittarian rising gives him the wandering philosopher's face, the seeker who kept exploring, gathering, and quietly building shelters of memory for everyone else.
