Nicolaus Copernicus

It took a rare kind of mind to lift the Earth out of the centre of creation, and Nicolaus Copernicus carried exactly that. His Sun sits in Pisces, the wisest and most unknowable of signs, the old soul who perceives what others cannot yet see; a dreamer of unifying visions who reimagined the whole cosmos with the Sun, not the Earth, at its heart. Born in Royal Prussia in 1473, this Renaissance polymath was a canon lawyer, physician, translator, economist and diplomat before all else an astronomer, and his De revolutionibus orbium coelestium, published just before his death in 1543, set off the Copernican Revolution. That Pisces Sun falls in the eighth house of deep research, buried truths and transformation, the phoenix that illuminates hidden places; a fitting home for a man who quietly overturned the accepted order of the heavens.

His Moon in Sagittarius was the philosopher's psyche, needing freedom, expansion and the endless pursuit of knowledge for its peace, the mind the masses would one day connect with across the whole globe. In the fourth house it rooted him deep in home and lineage, working from his cathedral tower. His Leo Ascendant gave the quiet dignity of one born to hold the torch for those who follow.
