Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso was a shapeshifter who killed one artistic self only to be reborn as the next, and that is the pure signature of his Sun in Scorpio. This is the Eagle at the core, the phoenix rising from the ashes, the god of death and rebirth whose whole avatar keeps dying and returning transformed. Born in Malaga, Spain, in 1881, he burned through style after style with terrifying power: the Blue Period, the Rose Period, the African-influenced work, then the shattering of form itself. That Sun sat in his fourth house of home, family, and lineage, so his Spanish roots and paternal line ran deep beneath everything, erupting in Guernica, his howling anti-war lament for a bombed Basque town.
