Robert A. Heinlein

Robert A. Heinlein imagined the future so vividly that the language itself bent to fit his visions. Often called the dean of science fiction, this American author, aeronautical engineer and naval officer helped invent hard science fiction, insisting on scientific accuracy while spinning tales that dared readers to question every social rule they knew. Alongside Asimov and Clarke he formed the Big Three of the genre, winning four Hugo Awards and becoming the first Grand Master in 1974. Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers and The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress remade the imagination of a century, and he coined words we still use: grok, waldo, space marine, speculative fiction. His Cancer Sun sits in the creative fifth house, the father shining through the sign of the mother: a deeply feeling, protective, homeward-facing heart that expressed itself through the intensely fertile craft of storytelling. His Moon in Gemini, at the base of the chart in the fourth house, gave him a restless, fact-hungry, endlessly talkative mind, comfort found in words and information, rooted in home and homeland. His Aquarius Ascendant was the alien-on-Earth mask, the fringe individualist forever championing liberty, self-reliance and nonconformist thought, a black sheep who wrote the future into being.
