Jane Austen

Jane Austen had the eye of a philosopher and the wit of a satirist, and her chart holds both. Her Sun shone in Sagittarius, the sign of the Jupiter-ruled sage: the mobile university, the observer who watches everything, gathers her material and quietly moves on. That top-down, big-picture gaze is exactly what let her map the whole social machinery of the English landed gentry with such biting irony. The Sun fell in her fourth house of home and family, and true to that, she wrote from within the domestic world she knew, at the family hearth, from the parlour and the drawing room.
