Nostradamus

Few names conjure the mystery of prophecy like Nostradamus. Born Michel de Nostredame in the France of 1503, he trained as an apothecary and physician, fought the plague that took his first wife and children, and then earned lasting fame through Les Propheties of 1555, a book of 942 poetic quatrains that readers have credited with foreseeing centuries of events. Catherine de' Medici herself became his patron.

The chart of the seer runs deep. His Sun sits in Capricorn at the very peak of the sky in the tenth house, the Sun at noon, throne of career and public reputation: an old soul who climbed slowly to become the most watched astrologer of his age, a name still on the world's lips. His Moon lies in Scorpio in the eighth house, the realm of Pluto and Hades, of death and rebirth, the phoenix rising from ashes; this is the psyche of the born psychologist and psychic, one who claims to sniff out anything hidden. And Pisces rises over it all, the mystic's mask, the Neptunian saint and dreamer who serves as a bridge from Earth to heaven. Prophet or poet, his fog still holds us.
