Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn carried a rare radiance: a woman of exquisite taste who became a film and fashion icon, then gave her last years to the poorest children on Earth. Her Sun in Taurus is the grounded connoisseur, the earthy Venusian pillar who shines through beauty, quality and the five senses. Born in Brussels in 1929 to an aristocratic family, she trained in ballet before rising to stardom in Roman Holiday (1953), the first actress to win an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a BAFTA for a single performance. Sabrina, Funny Face, Breakfast at Tiffany's, My Fair Lady: each showcased that Taurean instinct for elegance and lasting value.

With this Taurus Sun in her second house, worth and grace were her foundation, yet her Moon in Pisces was the true wellspring: the ultimate empath, a sponge of a moon tuned to the spirit realm, compassionate and self-sacrificing. Rising in that first house, she wore her feelings under her skin and radiated a mothering presence the whole world could feel. Her Aquarius Ascendant made her the trendsetter, the black sheep among icons. That humanitarian heart flowered through UNICEF, work honoured with the Presidential Medal of Freedom shortly before she died in 1993.
