Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee was a philosopher who fought, a sage who chose the body as his university. Born on 27 November 1940 in San Francisco, he carried the Sun in Sagittarius, the Jupiter-ruled explorer who shines through wisdom, movement and the crossing of borders. With Sagittarius also rising, the world met a larger-than-life teacher: even his fists were a lecture, and Jeet Kune Do, "the way of the intercepting fist," was less a style than a philosophy of freedom, the walking mobile university turned into a fighting art. That solar light fell in the twelfth house, the unknowable realm of spirit and the collective unconscious, where the ego dissolves into something the world felt as almost saintly; he shone brightest by embodying a truth greater than himself, bridging East and West. His Moon in Scorpio in the eleventh house held an emotional volcano beneath the calm, the phoenix forever reinventing itself, its intensity poured into the people and the masses who made him a global icon. From Wing Chun under Yip Man to Enter the Dragon, he metamorphosed continually. He died young, at thirty-two in 1973, yet the transformation never stopped.
