Biography
Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter (born May 11, 1999) is an American singer and actress. She made her acting debut in 2011, with an appearance on the crime drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2011) and a recurring role on the sitcom The Goodwin Games (2013). Carpenter gained recognition as a Disney Channel personality, playing lead roles in the comedy series Girl Meets World (2014–2017) and the adventure comedy film Adventures in Babysitting (2016). She has since starred in feature films such as Horns (2013), The Hate U Give (2018), The Short History of the Long Road (2019), Clouds (2020), and Emergency (2022), as well as the Netflix productions Tall Girl (2019), Tall Girl 2 (2022), and Work It (2020), the latter of which she executive-produced.
Carpenter signed with Hollywood Records in 2014 and released her debut single "Can't Blame a Girl for Trying", followed by an EP of the same name. She went on to release the studio albums Eyes Wide Open (2015), Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018) and Singular: Act II (2019) in the 2010s. Three of her singles—"Almost Love", "Sue Me" and "Alien"—topped the US Dance Club Songs chart. She transitioned to Island Records in 2021 and released the single "Skin", her first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100. Her fifth studio album, Emails I Can't Send (2022), became her best-charting album on the Billboard 200 chart, supported by the US Pop Airplay top-10 singles "Nonsense" and "Feather". Carpenter's single "Espresso" entered the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and is included on her upcoming sixth studio album Short n' Sweet (2024).
