Martin Luther King Jr. carried a Capricorn Sun, and the Sun is where we shine, so his whole identity organised itself around mission, reputation, and the slow, dependable climb to the highest rung of the ladder. This is old-soul energy, disciplined and grounded, and in his hands the climb was not for himself but for a whole people denied their place. That Sun sat in the sixth house, the Lion King of everyday duty and service, shining through relentless work: the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955, the leadership of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, and the long, deliberate strategy of nonviolent resistance against Jim Crow.

His Moon in Pisces was the ultimate empath, a psychic, saint-like emotional nature tuned to spirit and to suffering. Seated in the ninth house of faith, philosophy and higher horizons, it fed his mind on the big questions and on a Christian conviction deepened by Gandhi. From that well came the 1963 March on Washington, the dream spoken at the Lincoln Memorial, the Nobel Peace Prize of 1964.

His Cancer Ascendant wore the lunar mask of the matriarch, meeting the world with a shell that guarded a tender core. He was killed in Memphis in 1968, but the nurturing legacy endures.
