Quentin Tarantino

Quentin Tarantino is a pioneer among pioneers, and that is the mark of his Aries Sun, the warrior-knight who leads by going first and never backing down. Aries is the double leader, the Sun throned in the opening sign of the zodiac, and Tarantino wore that energy from the very start: a self-taught outsider who burst in as an independent with Reservoir Dogs in 1992, then blew the doors off cinema with Pulp Fiction, winning the Palme d'Or and an Oscar for its screenplay. The Aries drive keeps him charging into battle, and his films carry that combustible, high-testosterone charge: stylised violence, revenge sagas and fearless swings, from Kill Bill and Inglourious Basterds to Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Yet the pioneer is anchored by a Moon exalted in Taurus, the luminary at its healthiest and most devoted. Taurus is loyalty, patience and a born connoisseur's scale for quality, and you feel it in his obsessive craftsmanship, his savouring of texture, music and dialogue, his old-school love of film itself. He takes his sweet time and trusts his gut. A warrior's fire, steadied by an earthy, sensuous, unwavering devotion to the craft.
